Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am proud to welcome you to the first issue of the JfPP in the year 2009. The actual issue presents the diversity of the philosophical ways to thematize topics relevant for psychiatry: angst and hallucinations, the time and the mind-body-problem. In the actual discussions concerning these topics the two big philosophical streams of phenomenology and analytical philosophy of mind are the leading movements, as it is also the case in the papers of this issue. It is nearly a trademark of the interdisciplinary discussions in the field of philosophy, psychiatry and psychology that the strengths and weaknesses of each way to thematize these topics is respected and welcomed. Being committed to foster this open-mindedness in these discussions, I am glad to present on behalf of my co-editors this diversity also in our new and actual issue of JfPP.
